Tottenham have rekindled their interest in star strikers Giuseppe Rossi and Fernando Llorente but will have to sell two of their forwards before they make a move for either player.

Robbie Keane, who spent the second half of the season on loan at West Ham, is up for sale and is valued by the club at £6 million, and Spurs are thought to be willing to hold talks with interested clubs regarding Peter Crouch, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermain Defoe too.

According to the Daily Mail, manager Harry Redknapp and chairman Daniel Levy are willing to enter the race for Villarreal striker Rossi, 24, after the Italian’s move to Barcelona broke down.

The £35m-rated forward has experience in the Premier League from his time at Manchester United and his agent admits they are evaluating his options after a move to Barcelona fell through.

“It’s a deal that is definitely off. We are now evaluating a number of options for Rossi’s future, but we can’t rule out the possibility that he could remain at Villarreal,” Federico Pastorello said.

“How much will he cost? His valuation is that of a top player.”

Meanwhile, The Mirror are reporting that a bid of £20m for Llorente is on the cards once Redknapp has offloaded two of his strikers.

The 26-year-old Athletic Bilbao forward was subject to a failed bid by Spurs in January but the north London side intend to return with another offer this summer.

England internationals Crouch and Defoe could leave for £12m, while £14m would be wanted for Pavluchenko.

The paper also reports that the club want to recoup as much as they can for Alan Hutton, Jermaine Jenas and David Bentley, as well as make £11m through the sale of Wilson Palacios.

Without player sales, the manager’s budget will be capped at a mere £10m.

Redknapp and Levy remain resolute in holding onto their prize assets Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, however, and are refusing to listen to offers for the pair.
