ARIK Air said recently in Lagos that additional daily flights would be introduced on the Lagos-Abuja and Abuja-Enugu routes with effect from July 1.
The airline said in a statement that an evening flight would be introduced on the Enugu-Abuja route to complement the existing morning scheduled flight.
Arik Air will be introducing a late evening flight from Abuja to Lagos on July 1. This flight will enable guests to keep late appointments in Abuja before returning to Lagos at night,’’ said the statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to the statement signed by Mr. Banji Ola, Media Officer of Arik Air, the flight would depart Abuja for Enugu at 3. 40 p.m. while the return flight would depart Enugu at 5. 00 p.m.
It said that the move was part of efforts to increase the airline’s capacity to meet the demands of its passengers on the routes.
“The earlier frequency of Enugu-Abuja at 8. 50 a.m. and Abuja-Enugu at 10.30 a.m. remains unchanged. This is the second addition to Arik Air’s network from Enugu this year.
“`In April, the airline introduced a new connection from Enugu to Kano, the first domestic carrier to connect the two major cities,’’ the statement added.
The Vice President, Planning and Marketing of the airline, Mr. Bert Vander Stege also said that the additional daily flights would give passengers improved services and better choices on the Abuja-Enugu route.
