Don’t be offended by my caution-NACOB Boss tells politicians

The Executive Secretary of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) Yaw Akrasi Sarpong has told politicians particularly those in the New Patriotic Party not to be offended by his public statement warning against the use of drug money in the run up to the 2012 electioneering campaigns.

Mr. Sarpong last week issued a strongly worded caution against the use of proceeds from drugs to fund the campaigns for the elections since NACOB is monitoring those politicians closely.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Mr. Akrasi Sarpong called on Ghanaians to join NACOB in the fight against the drug menace, as it has negative effects on social and political stability as well as slows the pace of economic development.

Meanwhile the Executive Director of think tank, Danquah Institute has commended Mr. Akrasi Sarpong for his determination to rid the country of drugs.

Mr. Gabby Otchere-Darko called on well meaning Ghanaians and members of the public to give the needed support to NACOB to succeed in this move.
