Sunderland have pulled off a massive coup to land teenage starlet Connor Wickham from Ipswich for a fee of £8.1 million- which could rise to £12 million over a four year contract depending on a number of factors.

The highly rated striker who had attracted interest from a large number of big clubs – including Liverpool who seemed to be in pole position to land the 18- year-olds signature completed his move to Wearside on Wednesday and will join Steve Bruce’s side for  pre-season training.
