April 25, 2011 Accra , April 25, GNA - All traditional rulers should swear allegiance to the constitution and accept in a written document the monopoly of the means of violence by the state as supreme and unquestionable, a Ghanaian physicist has suggested. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Sunday, Dr Michael Gbordzoe, who has retired from the Institute of Physics , University of Würzburg , Germany , said the government should grant no official recognition to any traditional leader without such a declaration. In proposals submitted to the Constitution Review Commission, he said the "statutory streamlining" of chieftaincy was essential to enable the country to deal effectively with the perennial chieftaincy disputes which had militated against the developmental process and threatened the peace in the society

Luanda — The purchasing of US-made Boeing 777/300ER aircrafts by the Angolan TAAG airlines enables the attraction of more and better investments for the country.

This was said to Angop on Tuesday in Luanda by the coordinator of the Restructuring Commission of the National Private Investment Agency (ANIP), Aguinaldo Jaime.

According to him, the purchasing of these aircrafts are aimed at reinforcing TAAG transportation capacity and it will contribute to the betterment of the country’s image abroad by creating conditions to attract more and better investments for our country in overseas.

Aguinaldo Jaime urged other private aviation operators to follow the steps of TAAG did, in order create in Angola a very efficient market by providing better services.

The recently acquired 777-300ER aircraft worth USD 375.4 million and has the capacity to fly 293 passengers in the three classes.

The new aircraft made its first commercial flight on Sunday, connecting the cities of Luanda (Angola) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in a frequency of three flights per week.
