A statement in Kano yesterday by the forum’s chairman and secretary, Alhaji Lawan Dawanau and Shehu Usman Umaru respectively also said the party must make full refund of fees paid to it by all aspirants as a show of good faith

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State is alleging sabotage of its structure by its members who have crossed over to the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), saying they have found a new pre-occupation by continually criticizing former governor, Aliyu Akwe Doma, to curry favours from Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

But the CPC state secretary, Ibrahim Shekarau Musa, swiftly reacted, saying “the PDP leaders should be burying their heads in shame.” He confirmed that PDP members are leaving to join CPC on daily basis because they are convinced about the change process on ground, just one month into the CPC administration.

A press statement signed by PDP’s publicity secretary Hassan Abubakar II said that the party is aware that some ex-members who seeking favours from the CPC government, have found a preoccupation in verbal attacks on Doma as a sign of loyalty to the present administration.

PDP therefore decried what it described as “unending criticism of the administration of ex-Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma in the media”, blaming such act on “disgruntled members of the PDP, who may have decamped to the CPC mainly because it is now in control of the state government.”

The statement praised Doma for his developmental efforts in the state, just as it commended his predecessor, Abdullahi Adamu, for his contributions to the development of the state, saying their legacies cannot be erased by any baseless criticism.

The statement advised Al- Makura to beware of the ex-PDP members, calling them sycophants who would want to use some advantages to reap where they did not sow.
