The court also convicted former civilian officials Sylvain Nsabimana, Joseph Kanyabashi and Élie Ndayambaje and former Lt. Colonel Alphonse Nteziryayo, as part of the same indictment.

Lagos — MTN Nigeria yesterday said that its subscribers’ base has reached 40 million active lines making the country the lead across its 21 operational nations.

Speaking at the official closing ceremony of the MTN 21 Days of Yello Care in Lagos, the Chief Information Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Abdul Ismail who represented Group President and CEO Sifiso Dabengwa at the event said Nigeria constitutes the biggest market for the MTN Group’s operation with the 40 million subscriptions on its network in its 10 years of business in the country.

According to him, the group currently has an estimated over 150 million subscribers in 21 countries of operation.

He said: “We are proud as a group to announce that, today, MTN Nigeria contributes significantly to the group’s subscribers. In the 21 countries where we are currently operating from, we have 150 million combined customers and of this, MTN Nigeria now has 40 million subscribers.”

Ismail explained that the 21 Days of Yello Care is an annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of MTN staff which kicked off 21 days ago and featured series of selfless service by the members of staff of the telecom company to orphanages, schools, and the planting of 3,700 trees across the country.
