The draws for the 10th All Africa Games basketball will be held in Bamako, Mali today According to a release by the Fiba-Africa secretary Alphonse Bile. All the 12 qualified nations have been invited.
Kenya will be represented by the women’s team who qualified by virtue of finishing fifth at the last Pan Africa Games in Algiers, Algeria. The men did not make it during the qualifiers in Kigali, Rwanda earlier this year.
A provisional squad of 29 players has been named by Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF). The coaches are Cliff Owuor and Philip Onyango. The team assembles on July 15.
Meanwhile, KBF first vice chairman Henry Shihemi has revealed that a top coach from the US will be visiting the country later this month.
