Two new ferries are expected to arrive in the country in the very near future to boost the ferry services in the country. This was disclosed by the vice president and minister of Women’s Affairs, Her Excellency Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy to member’s of the National Assembly Wednesday.
The VP was responding to a question from Hon. Momodou LK Sanneh, Minority leader and NAM for Kiang West regarding the slow pace of the ferry situation at the Yeli-Tenda-Bamba Tenda crossing.
She said the government intends to hire the ferries for The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) after entering into a joint venture with a Greek company called Gallia Holdings within the framework of the Public Private Partnership.
