Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina rejects talk of Atletico Madrid move

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has moved to distance himself from rumours linking him with a move to Atletico Madrid, stating that he is happy at Anfield.

Atletico are in need of a new goalkeeper with current No.1 David De Gea all set to join Manchester United having arrived in England today to undergo a medical, and Reina, who has spent the last six years on Merseyside, has been touted as a possible replacement.

But the former Villarreal and Barcelona shot-stopper has insisted that he remains fully committed to Kenny Dalglish’s side.

He told La Gaceta: “I know Atletico are looking for a goalkeeper, but I won’t be changing colours.

“I have a five-year contract and I’m happy at Liverpool.”
