The delegation, led by the EPL Chief Sir David Richards arrived early Friday morning at the request of the Ghana Football Association and will be sharing their experience, expertise and procedures that has made the English league such a dynasty with their Ghanaian counterparts.
After hours of close-door meetings with officials of the Ghana FA, the team emerged into the conference room of the body’s secretariat where they answered questions from the local administrators and made strong suggestions.
Top of the issues tackled included ways to enhance patronage, marketing and revenue of the Glo Premiership while others sought their thoughts on the rules and regulations governing the game.
Sir Richards suggested: “The Ghana FA urge broadcasters to make good use of delayed streaming of European leagues, to enhance patronage of the local league.”
Some of the challenges identified by the delegation pointed out at the briefing includes; not having one main sponsor, development of youth systems, improved infrastructure amongst others.
A second session scheduled for the media was unable to take place but then GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi urged his colleagues and other stakeholders to engage the English delegation more to exploit possible opportunities.
