Kibaha — THE Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and the Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF), on Friday made special recognition to players who excelled during the Inter-Secondary Schools games, UMISSETA.
TBF picked two Most Valuable Players (MVP), namely Catherine Steven (North Western) and Pascal Magabe from Lake Zone, where they were given special presents in recognition of their individual efforts and talent.
TFF, through its technical director, Sunday Kayuni, issued cash and balls for hat trick winners, best overall player, best scorer and best goalkeepers in both boys and girls sections.
The best players, who received 100,000/- each, were Daniel Reuben from North East Zone and Hatujuani Hassan from the Southern Highlands. Sherida Boniface and Daniel Reuben from Dar es Salaam emerged top scorers and hat trick winners.
The duo were awarded 80,000/- each as well as balls. Mohamed Ali (Zanzibar) and Belinda Joseph (Eastern Zone) were best shot stoppers and walked home with 70,000/-.
During the girls’ final, Eastern Zone thrashed Dar es Salaam Zone 5-1. The Highlands were the boys’ final winners after registering a narrow 1-0 win against Eastern Zone, which despite of comprising most talented players from Lord Baden soccer academy could not stand in their opponent’s way to glory.
Eastern Zone emerged netball champions, while Highlands won bao competition. Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam starred in table tennis; Lake Zone won the athletics and Volleyball. Zanzibar also scooped handball title, while Dar es Salaam and Lake Zone emerged basketball champions in girls and boys categories respectively.
