The cream of the crop was again honoured at the annual Business Awards of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) over the weekend.
Local mogul Ben Hauwanga clinched the honours as the Business Personality of the Year. Hauwanga is the owner of the BH Group, which has a number of subsidiaries in many parts of Namibia, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
He was recognised for the milestone he has achieved in business, having grown from a basic trader of spare parts to a wealthy tycoon in construction, accommodation and entertainment establishments.
Award winners in the other categories were:
– Best Communicator Award: NCCI Lüderitz Branch
– Best Growing Membership Award: NCCI Oshakati Branch
– Most Active Corporate Award: Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund
– Most Supportive Member Award: MTC
– Volunteer of the Year Award: Tomas Iindji
– CEO Staff Award: August Negongo
– Platinum Sponsor of the Year Award: MTC
