The Daily Observer (Banjul) Hatab Fadera 23 June 2011 The president of the Republic and Commander-in-chief of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has once again reiterated his government's resolve to build a modern, well educated and professional armed and security services. His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh was speaking Wednesday evening at State House in Banjul while presiding over the piping and swearing in ceremony of 11 GAF officers who have been elevated to the ranks of Major, Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel respectively.

The mosque committee of Nema Kunku Fula Kunda in Kombo North, West Coast Region, is seeking assistance to complete their mosque.

The Imam of the mosque, Imam Cherno Jallow and members of the mosque committee of Nema Kunku Village on Wednesday walked into the Daily Observer offices to express their plight and to seek donation from the general public for the completion of their mosque. Imam Cherno Jallow, disclosed that they face many difficulties during last year’s rainy season.

He urged the general public, government, NGOs and the private sector to come forward to help them complete the mosque. Anyone willing to help can contact on the following numbers: 9957506, 9868600 or the Daily Observer on 4399803.
