Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov could be set to vacate Old Trafford this summer as Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain are ready to make a move for the striker, L’Equipe reports.

PSG have been linked with several high-profile names since Qatar Sports Investments acquired a 70 per cent stake in the club last month, but France international Kevin Gameiro and goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez have been their only signifciant signings so far this summer.

The capital club are reportedly ready to significantly increase their activity in the transfer market and have made Berbatov their prime target.

The 30-year-old, who was famously omitted from Sir Alex Ferguson’s Champions League final squad, has a contract with the Premier League champions until the summer of 2012, but has not been offered a new deal despite having a desire to remain at Old Trafford.

“Many clubs would be interested in Dimitar but he wants to stay in Manchester and win more trophies. He has a contract and he is not paying attention to the British media,” agent Emil Dantchev had exclusively told Goal.com.

United could decide to cash in on the striker now in order to prevent him from leaving on a Bosman free transfer move next year, and Paris could be the Bulgarian’s next destination.
