Alexis Sanchez has no preference between Barcelona & Manchester City – Udinese’s Gino Pozzo

Gino Pozzo, the son of Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo, has stated that highly-rated attacker Alexis Sanchez does not have a preference between a move to Barcelona or Manchester City.

The Chilean is reportedly close to joining the Champions League winners, but City are keen to lure Sanchez to the Premier League instead, and have tabled a €40 million (£35m) offer.

Until now, it was suggested that the 22-year-old had set his sights firmly on a move to Barcelona, but Pozzo is not aware of the player having made a choice.

“Barcelona are ahead of Manchester City, although the player doesn’t really seem to have a preference between the two teams,” Pozzo said to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Of course, we will listen to the player’s wishes though. We are not closing things yet, because there are still things to be taken care of.”

Giampaolo Pozzo recently said Sanchez was worth €50m (£44.5m), but Barcelona are hopeful of getting their man for an initial fee of £25m plus £4m in variables, with Spain under-21 winger Jeffren Suarez possibly leaving Camp Nou for Udinese as part of the agreement.

Sanchez is currently preparing for the Copa America with Chile, but national team coach Claudio Borghi recently stated that the attacker will be allowed to leave their training camp in order to complete any eventual transfer.
