Deputy Information Minister, Mr Baba Jamal, has reminded journalists to be more circumspect in their reportage and avoid stoking needless tension and controversy in the society. They should accept to be mindful of the peace, security and cohesion of the nation at all times

The Revenue Authority hopes to raise over 1 billion shillings if all MPs and other constitutional office holders pay taxes.

Public office holders targeted for taxation include the Attorney General, Chief Justice and other constitutional commission officials.

Commissioner of Domestic Taxes John Njiraini says any officer who feels aggrieved by the decision to demand taxes should raise the matter with the Supreme Court.
