Mogadishu — A high ranking Al shabaab official, who was injured in central Somali a fighting, died from his wounds in Mogadishu, officials said on Wednesday.
An official from Shabelle Valley administration that operates in parts of Hiran region in central Somalia told Shabelle that Abdurrahman Diriye Ali was injured after heavy fighting Al shabaab with Shabelle Valley in village just outside of Beletweyne town, the regional capital of Hiran.
The official said the injured official was taken to Mogadishu for further treatment but he was later died from his injures.
The Shabelle Valley confirmed he was today buried in Mogadishu’s Barakaat cemetery just outside of Mogadishu.
No comments about the death of key Al shabaab official were immediately available from the group so far.
