Blackburn forward Benjani Mwaruwari has revealed that he will be back with the club next season.
The player’s contract expired at the end of the 2010-2011 campaign, but the striker is expected to rejoin on a new 12-month deal.
The 32-year-old struggled to cement his place in the first team with only 18 Premier League appearances and three goals following his move from Manchester City. However, despite his struggles it seems that Rovers boss Steve Kean has plans for the player next season.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Benjani confirmed his future stating: “Yes, I will be back at Blackburn Rovers next season.
“I think the deal will be finalised in the next few days and then I can look forward to doing my best with the club.”
He added: “I don’t know if there were other clubs who wanted me because I always wanted to come back to Blackburn. I hope that will be sorted out now.”
