Ordinarily, not many would fault them for celebrating the 58-30 rout of Madagascar. It was pain reliever from the 25-15 loss to event winners Zimbabwe Sables.

Kampala — The National University Sports Federation of Uganda (NUSFU) has initiated a rallying cry to raise Shs22million ($10,000) that will enable Uganda send team to the World University Games.

NUSFU has entered a team of 32 athletes for the forthcoming games due August 12 – 24, 2011 in Shenzben, China.

The federation requires the money to cater for part of the costs for travels, uniforms and training. Among the medal hopefuls are triple jumper Sarah Nambawa and long distance specialist Joseph Chebet.
