Mahamadou Diarra has admitted he would love to play in the Premier League next season, with Stoke City and Fulham reportedly amongst his options.
The former Real Madrid man is a free agent after spending the second half of last season at Monaco and the combative midfielder is open to moving to the English top flight.
“Yes, the Premier League is somewhere I would love to play and I’m looking forward to that,” Diarra told skysports.com.
“I have other contacts, but a very good club in England would be my favourite option.”
The 30-year-old is confident he can recapture the form which reportedly saw him attract the attentions of Manchester United before he moved to the Bernabeu in 2006.
He added: “I am looking forward to next season. To be honest, if injuries do not come, I will have a great season.”
Reports in the African media suggest Stoke manager Tony Pulis is reportedly leading the race for the player’s signature as he looks to bolster his squad, who will be playing European football next season.
