Nairobi metropolitan minister Njeru Githae has said his ministry will replace garbage dumps with environment friendly land fills. “The world bank has accepted to fund the project which will not only deal with garbage problem but also offer employment to our people,” Githae said.
The minister said the project will start in Nairobi before moving to other towns in the metropolis, and will offer permanent solutions to the trash problem in urban areas.
Githae was speaking in Kangundo during a clean up exercise also attended by the local MP and Government whip in Parliament Johnstone Muthama.
