QPR’s playmaker Adel Taarabt has admitted both Chelsea and Arsenal have expressed an interest in him but insists he is happy to stay at Loftus Road next season.
As Goal.com revealed last week, the 22-year-old was the subject of a £10.6 million bid from Serie A side Lazio, although the offer was rejected by the newly promoted side.
Taarabt was infuential at QPR last season as they strolled to the Championship title, and despite interest from elsewhere, the Moroccan concedes a move away from the club is unlikely at the moment.
“QPR will demand £10 million for me, and for now, the clubs do not move too much,” he said.
“I had contact with Arsenal and Chelsea, but it is a little muddled.
“Arsenal have not yet sold Cesc Fabregas, and as for Chelsea, they do not yet have a coach, so we will see.”
Taarabt began his career at Lens before signing for Spurs in 2007, he never really broke into the first team at White Hart Lane and he moved to QPR in 2009, initially on loan before making the permanent before the start of last season.
And the man who contributed 19 goals in the title-winning campaign stated he was happy in London and had been encouraged with the club’s ambitions for the coming season.
“I would like to stay in London – it is the best city in the world, and with Queens Park Rangers,” he continued.
“Why not? When I talked with the coach, he told me the club would aim to be in the top eight.”
