Windhoek — Black Africa’s dribbling wizard Bradley “Asprilla” Wermann walked away with a whopping N$55 000 in total, after scooping both prestigious Player of the Season (N$40-000) and Players’ Player awards (N$15 000), at the MTC NPL annual awards ceremony in Windhoek on Friday evening.
The ingenious free-scoring midfielder shook off the likes of Eslin “Lovers” Kamuhanga and Civics skipper Heini Isaacks, in the Player of the Season category.
Wermann played a vital role in steering the Gemendge-based outfit to their first league title in as many years when they clinched the 2010/2011 league title.
Wermann also netted six goals to finish among the top 10-goal scorers in the MTC Premiership.
Ramblers rookie coach Christy Guruseb was the proud recipient of the N$20 000 cheque that came along with the Coach of the Season award.
He was nominated alongside Eleven Arrows’ mentor Congo “Jakkals” Hindjou and Leonard Nambandi (Mighty Gunners).
Civics’ long serving team manager Paul Stramis scooped the Team Manager award for the umpteenth time and walked away with a cool N$15 000 cheque, while Gunners Harold Ochurub’s impressive 12 goals gifted him the Golden Boot award. He won N$15 000 for his goal-scoring prowess.
