Fulham could make an offer for Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni if Mark Schwarzer leaves Craven Cottage, according to the Daily Mirror.

Martin Jol is said to have been scouting the Cameroon international for some time, and the Cottagers have now contacted the Spanish club about the possibility of a £3.7 million deal.

Jol’s interest in the 27-year-old mainly revolves around the future of Schwarzer, who has been a target for Arsenal over the last two transfer windows.

Although the Gunners have yet to register an interest in the Australian this summer, Fulham are keen to have a replacement lined up in case he does leave the club.

Kameni has spent the majority of his career at Espanyol, having signed for them at the age of 20 in 2004, during which time he has won the Copa del Rey whilst also having to endure racist abuse from his own supporters, leading to two fans being suspended.
