BENIN—THE Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth Nigeria, ERA/FoEN, has urged the Federal Government to halt the planned commencement of bitumen exploitation in the bitumen belt stretching from Lagos, Ondo, Edo, Kogi, to other bitumen belts in Nigeria. West Brom are to hold further talks with Zoltan Gera about the possibility of a reunion with the club and former Fulham manager Roy Hodgson, according to Press Association Sport.

Baggies held initial discussions with Gera shortly after he was released a few weeks ago, but a second round of talks are said to be going to take place later this week.

The 32-year old Hungarian midfielder is a former favourite at The Hawthorns having spent four years with the club after signing in 2004.

If the deal does go ahead, it will also reunite for Gera and Hodgson, who signed the player while in charge at Fulham, and was part of the squad that reached the Europa League final in 2010.

Gera is not the only free transfer Hodgson is said to be interested in, with Blackpool’s David Vaughan reportedly a target. The 28-year old Welsh midfielder had been offered a new three-year deal by the Seasiders, but he is said to have reluctantly rejected the offer.

Meanwhile, Hodgson has denied claims he is looking to part with left-back Nicky Shorey, however, Marek Cech is expected to leave the club
