FRESH fears have emerged that the anticipated local derby pitting Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards might not take place for the second time in three weeks. According to Gor Mahia’s secretary in charge of operation Ronald Ngala, sources from KPL reveals that Sports Stadia Management Board have written to the former citing unavailability of Nyayo Stadium on July 3.
When contacted, KPL CEO Jack Oguda confirmed having received the communication but expressed his dissatisfaction with this new development. Oguda further stated that he will take it upon himself to find a lasting date for this match, which no any facility other than Nyayo Stadium or Kasarani can accommodate. Meanwhile the SSMB through their manager at Nyayo have suggested July 23 as a possible date for the match.
