Angola: Interclube Top First Day of National Athletics Cup

Luanda — Interclube dominated the first day of the 2011 edition of the National Athletics Cup, with 12 medals out of the 13 finals of the competition held at Luanda’s Coqueiros stadium, ANGOP learnt.

Interclube’s domination over its most direct opponents such as 1º de Agosto and Petro de Luanda was revealed in the specialities of sprints, long distances, high and long jumps and some object-throwing specialities.

1º de Agosto and Petro de Luanda obtained two victories, the first team was superior in the males discus throw and in the ladies 400 metres, whilst the second team won in the males 4×100 metres and in the males 100 metres.

The other teams taking part in the competition are Progresso, Ara da Gabela and Recreativo do Libolo, in the males and ladies categories.

The competition is scheduled to end this Sunday with the holding of the second and last round.
