Luanda — Experts from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) member countries are meeting since Friday, at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka, Zambia, to prepare the ministerial committee session of the regional organisation’s political, defence and security body.
The Angolan delegation to the meeting of experts is composed of the general commander of the National Police, Ambrósio de Lemos, and the chief of the National Air Force, Francisco Lopes Afonso “Hanga”, representing the Chief of Staff of Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, among other experts assigned to the areas of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security.
Running until June 21st, the meeting will analyse the situation in Southern Africa, whose report should be submitted to the next Summit of Heads of State and Government of SADC, set for next August, in Angola.
SADC groups Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mauritius and Seychelles, Namibia, South Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo and Madagascar.
