Ruling Party Holds Ordinary Congress in 2014

    Ondjiva — The vice-president of the ruling MPLA, Roberto Victor de Almeida, Saturday announced that the seventh ordinary congress of the party is slated for 2014.

    MPLA vice president announced this during a political event of mass held in Kwanhama district, southern Cunene province, attended by the members of Politburo of MPLA, with stress to the secretaries for Information and Propaganda and Economic and Socials Affairs, respectively Rui Falcão and Manuel Nunes Júnior.

    Roberto de Almeida, who did not mention both day or month for the congress, defended the need of MPLA to continue growing in terms of militants, organisation and strengthening the cohesion.

    He also urged the militants to study and know the guiding tools of the party, in order to keep on working toward mobilisation and recruitment.

    On the other hand, the ruling party official stressed that after 2012 elections, his party will continue with national reconstruction programme.

    Roberto de Almeida, who started Thursday a three-day visit to the region also spoke of the programme of voluntary repatriation of Angolan citizens.
