Congo United boss Fadhil Bayusuf yesterday declared his boys are ready to fly and will be more than a match for Bandari in tomorrow’s Kenya Premier League derby in Mombasa.

Bayusuf said the team management and technical bench have done whatever was within their means to ensure the players’ spirit is high ahead of the match.

The Congo supremo spoke about the high profile match between his side and Bandari for the first time yesterday amidst anxiety and excitement by his clubs and Coast football fans.”We have brought the team on track following the signing of new players who have proved their worth in a very short time” he said. He expressed confidence that the boys would not let their fans down in the clash dubbed “the mother of all battles”.

Bayusuf’s assurance was mirrored by Bandari coach Rishadi Shedu who made similar sentiments about his own team.

The match that is set to be played at Kenya Ports Authority’s Mbaraki Sports Club ground, also the home field of Bandari has divided Coast fans.

Veteran fans and tacticians have said the game provides an opportunity for Coastal fans to prioritise their team of choice.”Both teams have been winning recently but this is a spectacle that will outline which of the two sides is more popular” said former Harambee Stars coach Mohammed Kheri.
