Jude Opara 17 June 2011 analysis Abuja — Certainly the last is yet to be heard of the crisis that is rocking Nigerian football in recent times which may linger for some time to come. This is because the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and the National Sports Commission (NSC) are now at daggers drawn over the particular law that should be followed in the administration of football in the country

THE LG Nations Cup friendly encounter pitting Kenya’s national football team Harambee Stars and Sudan will be played next week on Saturday after the misunderstandings that had earlier threatened to derail the match were cleared. “There was miscommunication earlier but everything is now in order. We look forward to seeing Harambee Stars get victory over Sudan,” said the Harambee Stars Management Board chairman Evans Kidero.

The match will as earlier planned be played on the June 25 and, according to Football Kenya Limited (FKL) senior vice chairman Tutus Kasuve, the tickets to go for Sh200 for the terraces and Sh500 for the VIP section, will go on sale next week on Tuesday.”We urge fans to buy the tickets early at any G4S outlet because we have printed few,” said Kasuve, adding that they were confident the match would go on. “As the body running the football, we knew as long as we played by the rules the match would go on,” he said. The match will be played on the same day with KPL Top Eight final pitting Ulinzi Stars and Western Stima.

“Fans should buy tickets because they will get double value for their money by watching the Top Eight final and the Stars’ match,” said Kidero

The Top Eight clash to be played at 3pm will precede the Kenya-Sudan match, which starts at 6pm. Kidero further said Stars players will get double their allowances if they win the match. Coach Zedekiah Otieno is expected to name his squad today before proceeding into residential camp next week on Tuesday. Sudan team is expected ion the country on Monday.
