From the capital Lusaka, the Coca-Cola ‘Surprise your senses’ music extravaganza moved to Livingstone’s Maramba Stadium last Saturday where about 5,000 people mainly teenage consumers were in attendance at the show organised by one of the worlds leading beverage makers.

The teenagers got enthralled by the various musical artistes lined up for a highly powered show.

Revellers started flocking to the venue as early as 08:00 hours to sample a free Coke.

Prior to the gig that got started at around 12.00 hours, Dj Catz was charged with the responsibility of burning the decks, mixing some tracks just as was the case when the event commenced its first road shows in Lusaka a fortnight ago.

Artistes such as Slap Dee, song bird Kay and music wannabe T Wonder, did not disappoint the crowd that jammed Maramba Stadium.

Kayula Bwalya alias Kay, stole the show as her three dancing queens did it in style sending the music enthusiasts to sing along to her tracks which have become top charters.

She off-loaded various tunes from her debut album which she has coined as kanyelele, which she recently released on the market under J-kayo studios for her fans to sample her sweet melodies.

Budding artistes from different genres also show -cased their talents an indication that the industry has a bright future in as far as quality product is concerned.

The significance of the events that are on going in other Central African countries such as Botswana, Angola and Malawi are to appreciate the teenage consumers so as to maintain their loyalty to the household brand.

“We are focusing on sampling the young clientele with Coca-Cola drinks which is our signature brand and not any other products such as Fanta or Sprite.

The sampling is based on the five senses that human beings use,” explained Yvonne Musoko, a senior brand manager for Coca-Cola International.

On July 1, 2011 Copperbelt based artistes such as Dandy Crazy, Afunika and new kid Fransciar’ Mutokofyomp’ are expected to wow the crowd from 10:00 hours to 18.00 hours while Dj Ken T of Yar’ FM Radio would be on the deck.

Venue is the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola.
