Muwali Musampula 18 June 2011 The Sports Council of Zambia (SCZ) has approved the registration of the National Football League (NFL) by the FAZ interim committee as an affiliate, with conditions. SCZ spokesperson Smart Mwitwa said at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that the board decided to accept the application after deliberations but attached conditions to the acceptance. The set out conditions are that the NFL would only be implemented at the end of the 2011 soccer season, that the interim committee should hold elections to usher into office permanent members and that there should be no disruptions to the current league run by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).

Ghana Football Association boss Kwesi Nyantakyi will hit the ground running this week as he seeks to fulfil his promise improving football in the country.

Sir Dave Richards chairman of the English FA Premier League will arrive in the country on Friday to hold a meeting with stakeholders on improving the Ghana top-flight league, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 43-year-old, who was re-elected for a second-term in office on Friday, promised to take key decision to help to solve the problems affecting the game.

Clubs owners and key football decision makers will meet Sir Richards to brainstorm on helping to improve the standards and interest in the local league and attendance.

Nyantakyi along with his deputy Fred Pappoe will this week personally take charge of the nationality switch issue of ex-Norway U21 international goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey.

The GFA boss will also continue with his vision of using football as a force for good causes in the country with a charitable visit of the Upper West Region on Wednesday.

The Black Stars have supported various charitable projects including eradicating malaria and support to some orphanages.

While Nyantakyi await the election of the new executive committee in two months’ time, he will be limited in taking major policy decisions.
