Ghana FA chief Kwesi Nyantakyi will this week take personal charge of the nationality switch issue of Adam Kwarasey to ensure he is available for the Black Stars.
The GFA boss and his deputy Fred Pappoe have asked for files on the progress ex-Norway U21 goalkeeper’s nationality switch.
Kwarasey wants to play for his father’s country instead of Norway but delays in the paper work between GFA workers and Fifa have prompted Nyantakyi and Pappoe to be personally involved.
They are desperate to get Fifa to approve Kwarasey’s switch before the end of this month.
Nyantakyi and Pappoe will try to use their contacts within Fifa to seek clarification over delays in the switch, insiders have told GHANAsoccernet.com.
Kwarasey is being monitored as a likely replacement for Richard Kingson.
Kingson, who turned 33 last week, has been pressurised by irate local fans to quit after series of errors in Ghana’s last two games.
Officials have defended his selection by claiming there is lack of quality goalkeepers around to replace the former Blackpool gloves man.
Kwarasey declared his intentions to represent Ghana three years ago.
