Freetown — After unveiling the club’s new logo in readiness for their First Division League campaign, Dollarosa FC director, Julius Coker, said he is now targeting a Premier League spot next season.
The club’s new logo comprises of two eagles on the left and right of the badge with a football in the middle.
Explaining the significance of the logo, Coker said the presence of the two eagles simply explains their intention of reaching the highest peak in football in the country in particular and Africa in generally.
“Our intention is at first to reach the highest peak in Sierra Leone football, which is playing in the Premier League. Our next target is to represent Sierra Leone in international tournaments,” Coker said, adding that they are desperate to achieve their ambition.
While launching the logo, Chairman of the Western Area Football Association, Alhaji Unisa Alim ‘Awoko’ Sesay said he was impressed with the club, noting that since their induction in the Second Division League which they won in their debut season, they have exhibited special competitiveness.
Meanwhile, the First Division League kicked-off at the National Stadium on Monday with newly promoted Manchester City defeating Belvic United 1-0, while Brookfields United were held to a goalless draw by derby rival Sheffield United.
