Maria Kaitesi 17 June 2011 Kigali — Over 40 journalists from various media houses are undergoing training in how to report on health issues. The training, which was organised by Health Communication Centre (HCC), is aimed at equipping the media with enough knowledge on health issues. "We don't want journalists to misinform the public; so we have dedicated three days and brought in experts to teach them about various health issues," said France Uwase, Social Mobilisation Officer at HCC

If you doubt the safety of the house you are living in, then you need to check with your local authority to find out if it is safe or not. Vice chairperson of the Architectural Association of Kenya Waweru Gathecha says you can also ask your land lord to produce an occupational certificate.

An occupational certificate is issued by the local authority to confirm that a building is safe for occupation. A report by city hall shows that most houses in Embakasi, Kahawa, Tassia, Umoja and Kayole have been illegally constructed and pose a serious risk to area residents.
