Mogadishu — The Ogaden National Liberation Front ONLF on Thursday warned Chinese exploration companies against operating in the Somali region under Ethiopia control.

In an interview with Shabelle Media Network, ONLF’s head of information, Hussein Mohammed Nur accused the Chinese firms of plundering and looting the resources of Somalia region in eastern Ethiopia.

Mr. Nur pointed out that the Chinese firms are now trying to get down to their operations starting Shilabo areas.

He said that Ethiopia has deputized those firms to loot the land properties of Somali people under Ethiopia protectorate.

In April, 2007, Nine Chinese workers were killed on Tuesday in an attack by armed men on an oil field in eastern Ethiopia.

65 Ethiopian employees were also killed in the attack in eastern Ethiopia. The ONLF claimed responsibility of that attack.
