Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has reiterated his desire to secure a ‘dream’ return to Barcelona.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a return to the club where he started his career for the past two summers, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger so far holding firm that he will do everything he can to keep the Spanish international.

Arsenal have gone six years without a trophy, with frustrations starting to grow at the Emirates and team-mate Bacary Sagna has admitted that the Spaniard is desperate to re-join the Catalan club.

Fabregas himself has also spoken of his admiration for Pep Guardiola’s side and confirmed that it has been a long term ‘dream’ of his to return to the Nou Camp.

“I will not be saying every day I want to play at Barcelona.  It has been my dream since I was 11 years old to play there,” he told Television Espanola.

However, the Gunners captain also revealed that the decision is not in his hands with Arsene Wenger keen for the Spaniard to remain with the London club.

He added: “Who am I kidding? If it happens or not, that’s a different thing, because I do not have all the power.”
