THE Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu has charged players and officials of Lobi Stars football clubs of Makurdi to show high sense of sportsmanship during their brief stay in Bauchi for the continuation of the on-going premier league.
Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu made the remark recently when the officials and players of Lobi led by the chairman of the club Mr. Dominic Mtem Iorfa paid him a courtesy call in his palace.
The Emir described Lobi Stars as a club to be reckoned with and hoped and their stay in Bauchi for the remaining premier league matches will further cement the cordial relationship between Bauchi State and Benue State which already Bauchi has been masters of the Tiv people.
He stressed that Bauchi and Benue right from history are brothers and living in the same province, therefore he will do everything humanly possible to ensure that Lobi Stars succeeded in all its matches that would be played in Bauchi.
He called on the sports loving people of Bauchi to come out enmass to support their brothers who have decided to come to their brothers land to play with a hope to win all their home matches here in Bauchi.
Earlier in his address the chairman of the club Dominic Mtem iorfa (popularly known as human express) in his football days, told the emir that they are in his palace to pay homage as well solicit for his support and prayers to enable them succeed in their home matches here in Bauchi being they choice as their home base due to the peaceful and lovely nature of the state that had made name sports.
Dominic Lorfa said they were in the state to play their remaining premier leaque matches as their stadium Aper Aku in Markurdi is currently undergoing renovation.
Mr Iorfa therefore used the forum to call on good sports loving people of the state to come out and give them support during their encounterd with other clubs as Bauchi is now their home ground.
He described the emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwan Suleiman Adamu as humble, simple, admirable sport lover and the most youngest among the emirs in the country. Mr Dominic finally decorated the emir with TIV traditional cap and cloths around his shoulders including a traditional bag and a royal spear as a mark of honour and respect.
