Tottenham full-back Kyle Walker claims the England Under-21s can beat anyone following their 1-1 draw with Spain on Sunday.
Stuart Pearce’s side, who face Ukraine in their next group game on Wednesday, were under pressure for much of the match as Spain exhibited their exemplary passing ability and controlled the game through midfield trio Javi Martinez, Ander Herrera and Barcelona starlet Thiago Alcantara.
But despite Spain’s dominance, Walker was upbeat regarding England’s chances in the tournament.
Speaking to FATV, Walker said: “I thought it was a good result against Spain and if the game had have gone on a couple more minutes we might have won it.
“With the lads we have in the changing room, I think we can beat anyone and we proved that.”
Walker himself received high praise for his performance in the match after causing Spain left-back Didac Vila a number of problems.
The youngster added: “That’s a big part of my game, that’s what I’m here for and I hope I can continue with that into the next game.”
