Eccas Heads of State, Government Summit Postponed

    N’djamena — The 15th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), scheduled for next Wednesday in N’djamena, Chad, was adjourned due to technical grounds, an organisation’s source has said.

    On Tuesday the Council of ministers of the member countries of ECCAS discussed the preparation of the grand event.

    At the venue, the Angolan delegation was led by the State secretary for Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto, and integrated by State secretary of Treasury, Manuel Neto Costa, director for Africa and Middle East of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Joaquim do Espírito Santo, amongst the high-ranking officials of State.

    During the meeting, the participants discussed the working programme of the event, the report on the situation in Central African Republic (CAR), the final communiqué project and the working programme.

    Initially scheduled for February 2011, the 15th summit of the Heads of State and Government of ECCAS member countries had already been postponed for technical reasons.

    Founded in 1981, ECCAS comprises Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAR), Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, DR Congo (DRC), Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome e Principe and Chad.
