Luanda — The former coach of the national football squad, Oliveira Gonlalves, last Sunday in Luanda said that the next chairperson of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has to present feasible projects so that this sport can gain a different impetus.
Speaking at the end of the match that his team Santos FC, in which he is the club’s vice chairman, lost 0-2 to Petro de Luanda, Oliveira Gonçalves said that it is not enough that one hears about nice projects, but they have to be feasible in the country.
“I was part of the federation for many year and I know that there are lots of difficulties that can be overcome with transparency and more organisation from the people that will be elected”, he stressed.
To him, the problems in the country’s football have been identified, so whoever win the elections in the federation must have courage and determination so that the programmes do not just stay on the paper and that the benefit can be felt by all.
As regards the two candidates to the post of FAF chairman, he said both are men of football and can change the current state of this sport in the country.
