    Luanda — The Angolan international master Adérito Pedro on Sunday in Maputo, Mozambique, beat the Zambian Dimba James, in the seventh round of the African Chess Championship in individual males category.

    With the his victory, Adérito Pedro rose from the 23rd to the 21st position.

    In a different game, the Angolan international master Erikson Soares lost to the Zambian fide master Phiri Richmond.

    The Angolan fide master Ediberto Domingos also lost to the Ugandan Elijah Emojong.

    The competition is being led by the grand master Adly Almed (Egypt) with 6.5 points, who beat in this round the Zambian Chumfwa Stanley.
