Nemanja Vidic has no intention of leaving Manchester United in the summer, as his agent dampens speculation over a possible exit to Serie A.

Silvano Martina, who also represents goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, admits the 29-year-old defender has attracted plenty of interest from other clubs, but made it clear that the chances of a move away from Old Trafford, particularly to Italy, appear remote.

The Serbian stopper has been linked with Juventus, but Martina is quoted as saying by Tuttosport: “He is a player everybody wants. I spoke to him about a hypothetical transfer and he responded like this: ‘I am the Manchester United captain, I earn good money, I have won practically everything, why should I leave for Italy when Italian football is going through a turbulent moment?’

“His answer clears up any doubts. He stays where he is.”

Vidic, who made more league starts than any other Manchester United player as they clinched the Premier League title last season, joined United from Spartak Moscow in 2006, and penned a new four-year contract at the beginning of last season.
