Santos wonderkid Neymar has downplayed rumours of a move to Europe, and has stated that he is committed to his contract at the Brazilian club and the important games coming up.

The 19-year-old has shot to fame with riveting displays both for the Vila Belmiro side and the Selecao, and has been strongly linked with a move to a number of leading European clubs, with Roman Abramovich’s millions waiting to be spent to bring the prodigious talent to Stamford Bridge.

Despite this, the five-times capped Brazil international is putting the speculation to one side, and is focused on upcoming fixtures.

“I have a contract with Santos and intend to continue, I am very happy because I’m getting goals,” he is reported to have said in MundoDeportivo.

The allure of cashing in on their prize asset may be too much for the Sao Paulo-based side, but this is not in the young forward’s thoughts.

“I do not know if Santos will go out to the world, but now we must stay focused on the games ahead,” he concluded.

Neymar’s side have played three fixtures so far in the 2011 Brasiliero and face Penarol in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final on Wednesday.
