Mogadishu — Somalia’s minister of interior, Sheikh Abdishakur Sheikh Hassan Farah has been killed after a suicide bomber attacked in home in the seaside Mogadishu.
Initial reports suggested that the suicide bomber was a female who was inside the minister’s home near Zoobe junction.
The minister was in critical condition as he was immediately taken to a hospital in the capital. But he later died from his wounds. The minister of information, Abdikarim Hassan Jama has confirmed the death.
Some of the reports say that she was the niece of the injured minister. Some of the minister bodyguards have also suffered injuries.
Immediately after the attack, a lot of government forces flanked by military vehicles reached at the house to assure the security.
Al Shabaab has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
