Shabelle Media Network (Mogadishu) 10 June 2011 Mogadishu — Somalia's minister of interior, Sheikh Abdishakur Sheikh Hassan Farah has been killed after a suicide bomber attacked in home in the seaside Mogadishu. Initial reports suggested that the suicide bomber was a female who was inside the minister's home near Zoobe junction.

Somalia’s Minister for Internal Affairs and Security Abdishakur Sheikh Hassan Farah was killed after a female suicide bomber attacked his house late on Friday.

According to report Garowe Online received, the minister died after he was rushed to Banadir Hospital.

“The suicide bomber was minister’s niece and she also died in the blast,” security official, who requested anonymity told GO.

No group has claimed responsibility for the latest attack.

This comes a day when two suicide bombers blew themselves up inside Mogadishu’s main seaport, killing several people.
