Fulham defender John Pantsil says he knows he’ll be playing for a different club next season.
Pantsil’s future at Craven Cottage is looking decidedly short-term despite the recent managerial change. He featured only rarely for Fulham last season after falling out with then manager Mark Hughes, and does not expect to stay at the club beyond the summer even though Hughes has now left and been replaced by Martin Jol.
The 29-year-old says he has been preparing for life away from Fulham and expects to sign for a new club before the start of next season.
“I am a free agent, I have some contacts and will see what I will do in the future,” Pantsil told Sky Sports.
“I know I will be playing my football next season at a good club.
“I am 29 years old so let’s see.”
The Ghanaian was an important player under previous Fulham manager Roy Hodgson but is not thought to be in new manager’s Jol’s plans for next season.
Pantsil has been in England since 2006 when he signed for West Ham, and has been linked with a move to Leicester City in the Championship where Sven Goran Eriksson is looking to build a side capable of winning promotion to the Premier League.
