Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro has ruled out a move to Newcastle United, admitting that he would prefer a move to either Paris Saint-Germain or Valencia.

The Frenchman had attracted the Magpies in recent weeks as they looked to spend some of the £35 million they received in January from Liverpool for striker Andy Carroll.

Newcastle have already agreed a fee with the French club, but the striker has his sights set elsewhere.

Gameiro told RMC Sport shortly after the international match with Poland that he favours a move to Spain.

He said: “I’ll think about my future in the coming days.

“It will be Paris or Valencia.

“The two clubs are very good.

“I will calmly make my decision over the next days.

“I love both clubs.

“I have always been attracted to Spain.

“We will see what will happen.

“An agreement has yet to be made with Lorient.”
